The downbeat organization is all about Chill-music and relaxation. Massive data base of artiests and music.
After being of-line for a long while the downbeat organization sites are up again. Although it was better before and you could find info about that very artiest that only you have heard of, it is still a massive data-base arcive, of artiest, albums and labels. The only bad thing right now, is that they use the same data base of Amazon (did Amazon buy them? I don't know). That means that if an album is not appearing on Amazon, it wont be on the downbeat sites. But let time do it's own healing: by next 2 month (I hope) the site will be filled with new info about all the isoteric artiest you might want. As for the mean while, you can still enjoy the downbeat bedroom-beats radio!
Extra cool site: The Electronica Primer explains the differences between House, Techno, Breakbeat, Jungle and all other sub-genres from the electronic dance and listening music. Characteristic audio samples and covers of key albums complete the genre descriptions. www.plato.nl/e-primer What's the difference from Acid Jazz and Porno Groove? Which style beats faster- Gabber or Hardcore? And what is the origin of Jungle music (it's not The Prodigy). This site or may I say article deals with all of the known Electronic Styles (maybe missed one or two, but will surly be on the next update), with lot's of music sample to make things clear. Of course, there is a timetable to show you how things turned up in time, and a list of recommended Basic-Definition of music genres. (so most of the "big" ones will be there). Don't try the link section, since it's hardly updated and most links gave me a 404 error mass., so ignore them. But don't let this minor thing giving you the wrong impretion, this article's composer really knows what he's talkning about. Be sure to check it out! | |
